Multifunctional sports hall in Tatabánya

A high-capacity hall that also serves as a community space was inaugurated in Tatabánya at the beginning of this year. In the 19 500 square metre area, 3 562 seats have been installed on the fixed reinforced concrete bleachers, and a further 2 496 seats are available on the mobile telescopic bleachers. The complex, with a capacity of 6,000 people, will be a suitable and worthy venue for any sporting event, including prestigious world competitions. Unfortunately, it could not debut as a reserve venue for the 2022 European Men’s Handball Championship, but on 5 February the public will be able to see the inside and outside of the hall during the inaugural match against Veszprém !

The project was entirely financed by the State and the maintenance of the building will be paid for by the State.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Máté Kocsis, President of the Hungarian Handball Federation, said that the arena in Tatabánya, the MVM Dome in Budapest, also built for the 2022 European Men’s Handball Championship, the PICK Arena in Szeged and the renewed Főnix Arena will be the largest handball hall in Hungary after the arena in Tatabánya. The hall will be home to the local Grundfos Tatabánya KC team, with whom we have a long-standing partnership! We wish you all the best for the season!

Let’s fill the new community space with as many people as possible, as many times as possible, go Bányász!!!
