For speeding over 100 km/h, the categories start at 20 km/h and increase by 15 km/h, but the fines also range from 39,000 to 390,000.
The penalties for speeding and drink-driving will also be increased for those working in the passenger and goods transport sectors, with a fine of HUF 520,000 instead of the current HUF 400,000 for drivers with engines of 2,000 cc or less, and a fine of HUF 800,000 for drivers with engines of over 2,000 cc, up to HUF 1.04 million.
If the regulation is adopted, a fine of 130,000 for driving in the hard shoulder of a motorway and 65,000 for driving in the wrong direction will be imposed. Penalties of HUF 39,000 for driving against a no entry sign, HUF 390,000 for driving into a specially protected natural area without a permit and HUF 39,000 to HUF 214,500 for unauthorised use of the road.
According to a summary of Hvg.hu, manufacturers can also expect severe penalties, for example, if they provide false data on the data sheet during the tí-pus approval, they will have to pay 650 thousand forints instead of 500 thousand, and if they provide false data on pollutant emissions, they will have to pay 1.04 million instead of the previous 800 thousand fine.
